To encourage Texas law students’ interest in insurance law, the Insurance Law Section of the Texas State Bar is pleased to offer ten thousand dollars ($10,000) in scholarships to students attending Texas Law Schools. Up to five (5) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000.00 each. To the extent less than five qualifying scholarship applications are received, the amount will be divided equally among the approved applicants.
The goal of the Insurance Law Section Law Student Scholarship offering is to encourage law students’ interest in insurance law as they prepare to enter the practice of law. There are no requirements other than to provide all of the information requested in the application linked below.
The deadline to apply for the Insurance Law Section Law Student Scholarship is Friday, March 27, 2026. The selected scholarship recipients will be notified by Friday, May 1, 2026. All applicants will be invited to join the Insurance Law Section (at no charge) and to attend networking events with the Insurance Law Section and other insurance law practitioners, which are held several times throughout the year in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas.

Please note that an applicant’s failure to provide all requested information will remove the application from consideration.
